Bangalore - I use auto rickshaw every day to & fro my office and almost every day I end up paying extra Rs. 10 to 30, more over not every auto driver are willing to take me even though I live and work in the heart of the city. Almost 90% autos in Bangalore still use old meters, which are faulty and often show more then actual rate and we have to pay even though its incorrect. Most of them have very bad attitude towrads there customer and sometimes they even abuse if we deny to pay extra. Few are very rude even after paying extra money.
I really don't want to be a part of this corruption but, I am left with no chose cause if I don't pay as demanded I'll be left stranded on road alone late evening or will be late to work in the morning. I am very upset and have no other way but to burn my pocket.
This can be sorted by ensuring all the autos use electronic meters and strong rules for over charging customer and harassing them every day. Not only me but every commuter in Bangalore face harassment by auto walas every min.
I think this can be stopped by just making an SMS based complaint registration service that should be implemented by BTIS. And every auto be given some kind of Identification number. So that police can track these people.
ReplyDeleteSame way as the autorickshaw drivers, the conductors of BMTC buses in Bangalore are one of the most corrupt and just make people get hatred for the city. They specially choose people who are new to City or those who don't know properly where to drop down perfectly. When they give ticket they will tell that they dont have change and will give it when we are about to reach our stop. But the problem is we will just forgot to get it back. There is also situation where these people tell they dont have change and tell us to get off bus if we dont have change.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent idea I found out to counter this is just scare them away if they have put their badge with their ID number by just reading that aloud and acting like you are messaging into some senior official. It worked well for me many times. I think Volvo conductors have strict rule to put on badge.
This bus thing is very common you should challenge the conductor to show him that he doesnt have the change then he will give you ...i do it...and for autodrivers there is a traffic police complaint cell... try asking the traffic police for the number
ReplyDeleteTranffic polices are more corrupted ppl in bangalore. There is a rule in bangalore any state 2 wheeler can raide in bangalore city without any transfer but still if they see other state vehicles blindly they stop and charge the money. guys plsssssss be aware we can drive any state vehicles inside bangalore city and try aruging with traffic polices.
